Phone calls from beyond
Today's most surreal phone call was from a lady who wanted raisins. Now, I know raisins are a natural byproduct of grapes and so is wine, but we are a wine store, not a grape and grape byproducts store. Sheesh.
Upon relating this to Ynee, I found out that this lady also called yesterday, also asking for raisins. What, she didn't believe us the first time?

Excellent opportunity for a side business for you. Next time she comes in, tell her to come see you behind the store, after hours, and you'll sell her a bag of raisins. Go buy some raisins cheap and sell them for double (tell her they were imported from somewhere exotic).
Wonder if he is named Jack because he likes to jack up the prices? Curious...
Oh, and of course I forgot to say "There are none so deaf as those who cannot hear."
This should have been entitled "Raisin Hell"... grin.
